RESULTS: Juvenile certification denied on two sexual assault of a child charges. Cases dismissed.
The State of Texas charged our Client, an autistic young man, with two sexual assaults from when the client was between 12-15 years old.
The state sought to bring adult charges because of delayed outcries.
Criminal defense attorney Jacob Blizzard contested the transfer from juvenile court to adult court, presenting evidence of the client’s autism, child-like nature, and understanding, bringing forward evidence of good conduct since childhood, and the family’s desire that charges not be brought.
The judge denied the state’s request to bring adult charges and the cases were dismissed.
