RESULTS: Pretrial Diversion for First-Time Offender
Client & her mother came to Blizzard and Zimmerman Attorneys after the client:
- Had a life shakeup,
- Had made an illegal mistake,
- And was looking to make a new start.
Our attorney worked with the client, obtained her personal and medical records, & requested approval for the client to enter into the state’s diversion program (PTD) so she could obtain a dismissal and expunction (record clearing) of the case upon successful completion of probation-like conditions.
Pre-trial diversion re-directs the case out of the formal court process and allows a client a conditional dismissal.
In contrast, probation is a formal entry of guilt before a Court and does NOT allow for immediate expunction—if at all.
Here, our associate articulated his client’s eligibility & candidacy to the state & secured her entry into the program.
Her case was closed in 33 days from the date of hire to the program start.
