RESULTS: Abuse Case Dismissed

Sometimes the police do NOT get the whole story.

We know, We know: that just cannot be true.

BUT, we’re all human beings, and often times family situations are chaotic—not just for the family, but for our first responders as well.

Here, our female client came to us with allegations of abuse against her significant other when in fact, the situation was really the opposite.

Our client was assaulted but she was arrested because “someone had to go to jail,” and she didn’t live at the residence.

Oftentimes, law enforcement decisions are made on “policy,” like, “policy requires us to take someone to jail.”

Policy is good, BUT so is thorough and objective investigation.

Sometimes in the field the officer’s need to “put out the fire” and move to the next call outweighs the need for a detailed investigation.

The case then moves to a detective and many times—but NOT all—the detective upholds the responding officer’s decision.

At Blizzard and Zimmerman Attorneys we believe in a fair shake & objective investigations.

Many times we find witnesses the police didn’t speak to with just a couple of phone calls.
