RESULTS: Five felonies reduced to two with short deferred probation term.
Mr. Blizzard secured deferred probation for Client facing five felony charges received 3 years deferred adjudication probation through a plea bargain.
The Client was charged with:
- Three Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon charges (2nd Degree felonies)
- One Continuous Family Violence charge (3rd Degree Felony)
- One Possession of THC charge (State Jail Felony)
Client had charges stemming from three separate incidents of alleged criminal conduct.
Client was accused of committing a drive-by shooting, assaulting his girlfriend on two or more occasions, and possession of a THC pen.
Client hired Jacob Blizzard after receiving a 10-year prison offer with his court appointed lawyer and sitting in a county jail for almost one year.
Mr. Blizzard went to work quickly to get Client out of jail on a personal bond for recognizing the state’s failure to timely charge Client.
Then, Mr. Blizzard investigated the case, engaged in persistent negotiations with the district attorney’s office, challenged the evidence presented, and presented Client’s case for leniency.
Mr. Blizzard ultimately successfully negotiated deferred probation for only two cases, receiving only 3 years, near the minimum amount of probation time in the 2 – 10 year range, and a dismissal of all of the remaining charges.
The Client will now be able to move forward in his life without a felony conviction and quickly put this part of his life moving forwards to better things.
